Kaito Sushi – Bronxville

What to say, what to say… I guess bland would be a good term to sum up my experience here. This place reminds me of the old sit down chinese restaurants that were around when I was a kid, very quiet, respectful service and not much more than that.

I started with a clear soup and avocado salad. The salad simple and the soup even simpler, I know what do I expect when I order clear soup. I tried the beef sukiyaki which probably wasn’t the best idea since I don’t eat with chopsticks that often but I am always a master right when the meal is finished. There was absolutely no flavor to it at all. You might ask why go to a sushi restaurant and not order sushi, I just wasn’t feeling the place and didn’t want to tempt fate.

There really isn’t much to the place, a small square room with supermarket lighting and a little sushi bar in the corner. It has a very traditional atmosphere with classic over courteous demur service and so so food. There is nothing wrong with that, it’s just not my cup of tea and with all the other options in Bronxville it falls way down on my list.
